ARFs limited to ‘privileged elite’

The government’s new pension policy will limit access to the approved retirement fund (ARF) structure to ‘‘a privileged elite’’, according to Standard Life.

ARFs give investors greater flexibility around their pension investment decisions, but are currently restricted to a limited group of people, including company directors.

However, the government’s new national pens ions framework had proposed plans to extend ARF access to more people.
