Irish people will spend 25 per cent less on their summer holidays this year, according to research from lifestyle website Lastminute.com.

According to figures released by the firm, the average spend by Irish consumers fell from €794 last summer to €600 this year.

Germans will spend the most on their summer holiday this year, with an average of €838 each. The Spanish will spend the least, with an average spend of €539 per person.
