More than one in five people aged over 55 have not prepared for their retirement, according to new research from pension and investment consultancy firm, Mercer.
The research, which was carried out by Millward Brown Lansdowne and involved more than 330 face-to-face interviews with people aged between 35 and 65 in paid employment, assessed attitudes to retirement provision.
It found that only one in four people had made significant preparations for retirement.
