Looking at the market's prospects
With signs that the commercial property market bottomed out last year, can 2013 signal a recovery in the industry, asks Philip Connolly.
For many in the commercial property sector, 2012 was the year when parts of the property market, particularly in Dublin, bottomed out. Activity picked up across the market as the National Asset Management Agency (Nama) and many Irish banks started getting commercial property off their books. International investors also flowed into the market, buying up properties at massive discounts.
So what will 2013 bring? The hope is that activity will continue to rise and international investors...
