Location of kidnapped aid worker known
An Irish delegation to Sudan has pinpointed the exact location where kidnapped aid worker Sharon Commins is being held, writes John Burke.
Well-placed sources said that the Khartoum-based delegation had known for several days where the Dublin woman was being held in northwestern Sudan.
Commins and a Ugandan aid worker were kidnapped on July 3. Both women work for the Irish aid agency Goal. Micheál Martin, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, is understood to be hopeful that Sudanese officials will agree in the coming days to guarantee the safety of the women’s kidnappers.
