Loans difficult to come by for mature medical students

Mature students are struggling to get loans in order to complete medical degrees, as banks have tightened lending and future earning potential has plummeted.

Mature students are struggling to get loans in order to complete medical degrees, as banks have tightened lending and future earning potential has plummeted.

AIB has confirmed that it took the decision to close its graduate entry medical loan scheme to new students last year. It said the decision was taken due to the "significant reduction in income levels of graduates in recent years, which has restricted their ability to take on large loans".
