The Pimlott family have been hit harder than most by CF, but have learned to cope with its debilitating effects, writes Catherine Murphy.

Shane Pimlott flashes a winning smile as he informs me that he's about to have his photograph taken. It's easy to see why this cute, boisterous five-year-old has won hearts at Temple Street hospital. Suffering from a severe form of cystic fibrosis (CF), Shane attends the Dublin hospital on a regular basis with his older brother Aaron, who has a milder form of the disease.
