Live Register falls to lowest level since April 2009

The standardised unemployment rate fell to 11.8 per cent in March, down from 11.9 per cent in February, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The standardised unemployment rate fell to 11.8 per cent in March, down from 11.9 per cent in February, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

In unadjusted terms there were 391,232 people signing on the Live Register in March 2014, representing an annual decrease of 33,856 or 8.0 per cent. On a seasonally adjusted basis the Live Register total recorded a monthly decrease of 1,800 in March 2014, reducing the seasonally adjusted total to 396,900.
