Live Register decreases but unemployment unchanged at 14.6%

The Live Register has recorded a small decrease but the rate of unemployment remains the same at 14.6 per cent, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The Live Register has recorded a small decrease but the rate of unemployment remains the same at 14.6 per cent, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

On a seasonally adjusted basis the Live Register total recorded a monthly decrease of 1,400 in December, bringing the seasonally adjusted total to 430,900. In unadjusted terms there were 423,733 people signing on the Live Register in December, representing an annual decrease of 11,051 (2.5 per cent), the figures showed.
