The High Court has replaced the liquidator of a ‘‘hopelessly insolvent’’ Galway development company, and taken over supervision of the liquidation.

One of the state’s largest construction companies, Sisk, asked the court to oust the liquidator of Marcon Developments, which collapsed in October with debts of at least €18 million.
