The lesser known social networking service is very heavily used in Ireland by people looking for jobs, writes Adrian Weckler
Though the term ‘‘online networking’’ is dominated by Facebook and Twitter, a third, solidly-growing service is used by hundreds of thousands of Irish people with little fanfare.
LinkedIn, which will shortly float on the New York Exchange for over $3 billion, has a fervent user base in Ireland for good reasons. It gets people jobs, makes sales connections, and is increasingly being used as a news-sharing portal for its members.
