Liberty Mutual move to push up business insurance costs

Liberty Mutual is pulling the plug on 37 different lines of commercial insurance business and raising prices for the remainder of its commercial book.

Insurance firm Liberty Mutual is pulling the plug on 37 different lines of commercial insurance business and raising prices for the remainder of its commercial book, in a move that will heavily affect businesses here.

The US insurer is making the move as it seeks to restore order to the insurance book it took over from Quinn Insurance. The company claims Quinn's commercial business is unsustainable and under-priced.
