It is deeply troubling, but not unexpected, to see that Nama is being structured as an SPV (Private sector role vital to keep debt off balance sheet, 25/10/09).
A more equitable proposal would be for the €51million private investment stake to come from public investment via a subscription/ flotation vehicle. The board of this vehicle would, in effect, be directly elected by taxpayers, affording shareholders the benefit of direct accountability...
