So, according to published Central Bank documentation, it was The Sunday Business Post that prevented a credit union solution to the problems at Newbridge Credit Union, by running a story indicating problems there.

The installation of a ``special manager'' two years ago, which commenced an immediate outflow of deposits, of course had no destabilising effect at the credit union.
