Helping Japan can help us

This might appear both crazy and opportunistic, but have the Irish government and Nama contacted Naoto Kan, the Japanese prime minister, to offer to house temporarily the 100,000-odd homeless Japanese in any of the vacant properties lying idle in Ireland?

Have they offered to make available serviced factory and office sites so that the Japanese can get their economy back on the road again?
