Ireland a bad example to Scotland

David McWilliams wonders why the Scottish nationalists don't cite the example of Ireland between 1922 and 1979 as a successful example of monetary union with sterling (16/02/2014). Well, it is probably not too difficult to figure out why any reference to Ireland would be toxic to the cause of Scottish independence.
