Leonard’s works at Whyte’s

Whyte’s sale this week gets underway with the McClelland Collection of works by the late Patrick Leonard.

Bought by George McClelland direct from the artist during the 1960s and 1970s, the collection of 84 paintings and watercolours includes rural scenes, seascapes, portraits, still lifes and nudes. But some of the most interesting works are the 15 watercolours and sketches that depict the female of the species.
