Lending to households falls 3.9% in March

Loans to households continued to decline in March, falling by 3.9 per cent on a year-to-year basis after a four per cent decline in February, new figures released by the Central Bank show.

Loans to households continued to decline in March, falling by 3.9 per cent on a year-to-year basis after a four per cent decline in February, new figures released by the Central Bank show.

Lending for house purchase was 2.4 per cent lower while lending for consumption and other purposes declined by eight per cent in March when compared to a year earlier, the money and banking statistics showed.
