One of the most noticeable trends in the overseas property market last year was the huge increase in popularity of leaseback schemes, particularly in France, among Irish people.

Leasebacks are especially appealing to investors seeking a hassle-free option, as the developer will typically organise furnishings, lettings and management.

Next weekend, the publicly-quoted tourism and property group Pierre & Vacances will hold an exhibition in Dublin showcasing a number of leaseback schemes.
