The Law Society still has serious concerns regarding a number of the provisions of the Legal Services Bill.

The Law Society has proposed 62 changes to the 2011 Legal Services Bill introduced by justice minister Alan Shatter.

The second reading of the bill – which proposes wide-ranging changes to the legal profession – ended last week. [Speaking in the Dáil](http://live.thepost.ie/#!story/Home/News/Shatter+criticises+%22hysterical%22+lawyers/id/19410615-5218-4f46-9f79-bbf821485017), the minister condemned the “hysterical reaction” of lawyers to the proposed legislation, and denied that there was “some secret government plot to take over the legal profession”....
