Senior officials of two of the world’s biggest traditional Catholic orders are to visit Ireland over the next few weeks, as reports from Rome indicate that Pope Benedict is set to give approval for worldwide use of the old Latin Mass.

Senior officials of two of the world’s biggest traditional Catholic orders are to visit Ireland over the next few weeks, as reports from Rome indicate that Pope Benedict is set to give approval for worldwide use of the old Latin Mass.

The Pope is said to be on the point of issuing a motu proprio, a personal document, authorising priests to celebrate Mass in the old rite if they so wish.
