The pensions of retired former high-earning civil servants - including those of retired politicians - are likely to be targeted as part of savings to be achieved under a revised or extended Croke Park deal.

Intense negotiations on proposals tabled by management last Friday have continued throughout the weekend. Pay cuts for higher earners in the public service have already been flagged by the government.
