Landowner awarded damages for trespass but penalised in costs

A Donegal landowner who brought High Court proceedings to prevent a local community running water pipes across her land has been awarded €7,500 damages for trespass.

A Donegal landowner who brought High Court proceedings to prevent a local community running water pipes across her land has been awarded €7,500 damages for trespass.

However, Catherine McKeever will be penalised in costs as Mr Justice Kevin Feeney said the matter should have been brought in the Circuit Court.
