Landlords say they will not pay for water meters

Landlords say it is unacceptable they should face water meter charge as the Taoiseach says the cost of the meters will be kept as low as possible.

Landlords say they will not pay for water meters
Water meters could cost €300, say reports.

The Irish Property Owners Association has said it is unacceptable that landlords be exposed to charges for water meters after also having to pay the household charge on behalf of tenants.

If the Government insists on metering water supplies to our tenants, then it needs to realise that owners of rental property cannot be expected to pay for the meters which supply water to third parties, the association, which represents landlords, said in a statement....
