Lambay Island to become holiday haven for the rich

Wealthy will soon be able to stay in exclusive spot after planning dispute resolved.

Lambay Island, for more than a century the private home of the famous Baring banking family in Ireland, is one step closer to throwing open its doors to an exclusive coterie of wealthy holidaymakers.

Last week, the trust company through which the Baring family owns the island off north county Dublin came to an agreement with planning officials over a dispute on the overhaul of the island’s plumbing.
