Unarguably, John Boyne has a few axes to grind. Without having to venture between the lines of his latest children's book, you'll know it. Your children - the intended audience of Boyne's pointed credo - probably won't have a clue. They will simply be carried along by the haphazard verve of this kooky existential tale by the author of The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas.
