Ireland West Airport Knock said it expects 2014 to be its busiest year ever with passenger numbers expected to exceed 700,000 for the first time.

The airport said last year was the second busiest in its history with 665,000 passengers using the airport, which now serves more than 25 international destinations.

The Gathering provided a major boost to passengers arriving from key markets such as Britain, Italy and Germany, the airport said.
