Kinnitty Castle bought by hotel group for €13m

Kinnitty Castle in Co Offaly, which was sold prior to auction last week, is believed to have been purchased by a hotel group from the west of Ireland for about €13 million.

Kinnitty Castle in Co Offaly, which was sold prior to auction last week, is believed to have been purchased by a hotel group from the west of Ireland for about €13 million.

Auctioneer John P Younge was handling the sale and had been quoting a pre-auction guide price of €12 million. He would not comment on the deal, saying it was confidential.

The hotel was sold with capital allowances worth €8 million.
