Killeen Castle in Co Meath is preparing to take centre stage in the world of ladies’ golf over the coming months.

The club will host the Ladies Irish Open next month, followed by the Solheim Cupin September.

Established in 1990, the Solheim Cup is held every two years, and sees the best US female golfers pitted against their European counterparts in a three-day match play competition.
