Kepak secures 180 jobs with deal to buy McCarren Meats
Irish meat-processing company Kepak is to buy a majority shareholding of Cavan-based McCarren Meats, one of the state's largest pig-processing companies.
Irish meat-processing company Kepak is to buy a majority shareholding of Cavan-based McCarren Meats, one of the state's largest pig-processing companies.
The negotiations to secure the deal, which secures the jobs of McCarren’s 180 staff and the livelihoods of its pig suppliers, were first reported in the Sunday Business Post in April. The conclusion of the deal is still subject to Competition Authority approval.
