Kenny names two deadlines for bank funding deals

Enda Kenny has upped the ante in his negotiations with Europe by naming two deadlines in the first half of 2013 for agreement on reductions of Ireland's banking debts.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has upped the ante in his negotiations with Europe by naming two deadlines in the first half of 2013 for agreement onreductions of Ireland's historic banking debts.

Speaking to journalists last week, the Taoiseach said a deal on the IBRC promissory notes should be completed by March, and a separate agreement on recapitalisation of the other banks should be concluded by June, with the actual European investment in the banks taking place in 2014.
