Kenny insists source of horsemeat will be found

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has insisted that the government will identify the source of horsemeat at Irish beef burger plants and did not rule out fraud as the source of the problem.

Somebody is "drip-feeding" horse meat into the burger manufacturing industry here, said the chief executive of the FSAI.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has insisted that the government will identify the source of horsemeat at Irish beef burger plants and did not rule out fraud as the source of the problem.

"Clearly this is a matter that has to be sorted out ... a matter of reputation. Obviously we can't afford to have that," Kenny said on his way in to a Cabinet meeting to discuss the crisis in the industry.
