Kenny: EU budget needs to be agreed this week

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said he hopes for an agreement on the EU's future budget at the first meeting of the year of the European Council in Brussels on Thursday and Friday.
The MFF, or multiannual financial framework, is the main item on the agenda for the meeting. Negotiations on the budget have been underway since the European Commission originally proposed expenditure of about one thousand billion euro over seven years.
