KBC raises Irish capital by €100m as loans worsen

KBC Groep said it increased capital levels at its Irish unit by €100 million as loan performance continued to worsen.

KBC Groep said it increased capital levels at its Irish unit by €100 million as loan performance continued to worsen.

While KBC Bank Ireland’s third-quarter loan loss provisions fell to €129 million from €136 million for

the previous three months, total non-performing loans rose to 22.5 per cent at the end of September, its Brussels-based parent said in an analysts statement today. The figure was 21.4 per cent at the end of the second quarter.
