Kallakis convicted of defrauding AIB

The defendants, who operated in Mayfair as the Pacific Group of Companies, conspired over a five-year period to defraud AIB by using forged or false documents

Business tycoon Achilleas Kallakis, who was known as "The Don" on the international poker circuit, has been found guilty of a stg£740 million fraud against AIB.

Kallakis and co-conspirator Alexander Williams used the money borrowed to buy 16 trophy properties, the British Serious Fraud Office said.

They also bought a private jet, helicopter a chauffeur-driven Bentley and artwork.
