K Club put on green alert

The K Club is to introduce round-the-clock security to protect the golf course from vandalism 11 months before the Ryder Cup is due to be staged at the Co Kildare venue.

The K Club is to introduce round-the-clock security to protect the golf course from vandalism 11 months before the Ryder Cup is due to be staged at the Co Kildare venue.

The enhanced security follows a number of incidents at other golf courses in recent years.

In September, seven greens were dug up at the Garda golf club in Westmanstown.
