A sprawling cult read, Michel Houellebecq’s controversial novel Atomised, although not obviously cinematic, has been ably filmed by German director Oskar Roehler (Agnes and His Brothers).

The story of two half-brothers, consigned to lives of sexual dysfunction after they are abandoned by their beautiful hippy mother, is skilfully told through flashbacks.
