Only five per cent of people expect to use credit to fund Christmas this year amid a more sensible approach to spending and saving, a new survey from EBS has found.

The quarterly Consumer Saving Sentiment Research of 1,000 Irish consumers found that 48 per cent plan to only spend what they can afford this Christmas and 37 per cent are dipping into either their regular savings or savings that they have put aside specifically for Christmas.
