Jump of 70% in profits at Randox Laboratories

Randox Laboratories, the medical devices firm run by scientist Peter Fitzgerald, recorded a 70 per cent rise in pre-tax profits to stg£6.2m illion (€7.2mi llion) last year.

Randox Laboratories, the medical devices firm run by scientist Peter Fitzgerald, recorded a 70 per cent rise in pre-tax profits to stg£6.2m illion (€7.2mi llion) last year. Revenues at the Antrim clinical diagnostics company also rose sharply, fromstg£46.5million in 2007 to stg£52.8 million lastyear, according to accounts just filed. The directors of the business attributed the improved performance to diversification into new products and markets.
