Judges' body issues warning to new applicants on pension cuts

Barristers and solicitors who are considering applying for positions on the bench have been warned about reductions in pensions for new judges.

Barristers and solicitors who are considering applying for positions on the bench have been warned about reductions in pensions for new judges.

Mr Justice Peter Kelly, president of the Association of Judges of Ireland, has written to the president of the Law Society and the chairman of the Bar Council asking them to outline the changes to members who have applied or are considering applying for judgeships in the higher courts.
