US entrepreneur Jack McDonnell entered the Irish market in 1994 by establishing a software development group in Dublin.

Since 1998 he has also operated a data network for card transactions and securities trading. McDonnell is founder and chief executive of Transaction Network Services.

McDonnell became involved with the American Ireland Fund about six years ago, but said his interest in Northern Ireland began in 1986 when his son Kevin received an Eisenstein Fellowship to study the impact...
