Local radio experienced a considerable drop in market share on the national front, according to last week's Joint National Listenership Research (JNLR) report.

''It's a 4 per cent drop in share [from 45 per cent to 41 per cent], but a 10 per cent fall in listenership, year-on-year, said Oilbhe Doyle, account director with media agency OMD. ''The IRS group is down 42,000 listeners, year-on-year, which is very much reflective of the home-local market.
