January industrial output rises 0.7%

Industrial production increased by 0.7 per cent in January from December 2011 but was down 0.1 per cent when compared with January 2011.

Industrial production increased by 0.7 per cent in January from December 2011 but was down 0.1 per cent when compared with January 2011.

The “modern” sector, comprising a number of high-technology and chemical sectors, showed a monthly increase in production for January 2012 of 4.9 per cent. There was a decrease of 7.4 per cent in the “traditional” sector.
