January exports rise 4% year on year

Exports rose 4 per cent in January compared to the same month in 2013, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

January was quieter for exporters than December but busier than it was one year ago.

Exports rose 4 per cent in January compared to the same month in 2013, according to the latest figures from the Central Statistics Office.

The value exports during the month was up €302 million to €7.03 billion, according to the figures. The main driver was a 6 per cent increase in chemicals and related products, as well as a 9 per cent increase in food and live animals.
