The Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association (Isme) has said that retailers are being “wiped out” due to increased costs and a weakening economy.

The Irish Small and Medium Enterprises Association (Isme) has said that retailers are being “wiped out” due to increased costs and a weakening economy.

The organisation was reacting to the latest retail sales figures issued by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) today.

“Retailers are being wiped out the length and breadth of the country due to a deteriorating domestic economy, consumer uncertainty and ever increasing costs,” said Mark Fielding, chief executive of Isme....
