The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) is in talks with its British counterpart about creating a common airspace between the two countries.
European airspace is divided into blocs which reflect national boundaries. However, under a package of EU legislation, known as the ‘‘single sky’’ legislation, it is proposed that European airspace be reorganised to reflect traffic flows, rather than national boundaries.
