Irish vice-president appointed by Xilinx

Xilinx, a $10 billion US chip design firm, has appointed Irishman Kevin Cooney as its chief information officer and corporate vice president.

Xilinx, a $10 billion US chip design firm, has appointed Irishman Kevin Cooney as its chief information officer and corporate vice president.

Cooney will be based at Xilinx's European headquarters in Dublin, where about 450 of its 3,300 staff are employed. He is just the third chief information officer at the company and the first global senior executive of Xilinx to be based outside of the US.
