Irish Stock Exchange sees highest level of trades in Q1

The Irish Stock Exchange saw 786,000 trades in the first quarter, representing the highest ever level of trades recorded in one quarter on the exchange, it said today.

The stock exchange’s benchmark index, the Iseq, gained 16.5 per cent in the first quarter.

The Irish Stock Exchange saw 786,000 trades in the first quarter, representing the highest ever level of trades recorded in one quarter on the exchange, it said today.

Growth in trading was up 24.2 per cent on the same period last year and 42.1 per cent on the last quarter.

This “demonstrates the underlying liquidity of the Irish market and strong demand for Irish equity trading on the ISE,” the exchange said in a statement.
