Hewlett-Packard's Irish employees are set to receive a boost with news later this week that the company's printer business helped drive profits in the last three months. The results will strengthen the belief that Irish jobs will escape plans by the computer giant to cuts thousands of jobs across the world.

HP, which reports third-quarter earnings on Tuesday, employs more than 4,000 people in Ireland, with 1,800 of those working in an inkjet cartridge manufacturing...
