Irish shipping and port activity rose by 2 per cent during the second quarter of the year when compared to the same period last year.

Irish shipping and port activity rose by 2 per cent during the second quarter of the year when compared to the same period last year, according to the latest iShip index published today by the Irish Maritime Development Office (IMDO).

The roll on/roll off freight segment grew 7 per cent in the second quarter to 244,629 units, marking the sixth consecutive quarterly increase in freight trailers.
